Strategy, growth, value creation across healthcare and life sciences

Strategy that holds up in the real world.

We work alongside companies and investors on the choices that shape growth: which markets to pursue, what to prioritise, how to gain adoption, how to improve performance. Our work spans pharmaceuticals, medical products and care delivery, with particular depth in animal health and veterinary services.

Our work often begins when a company or investor needs to choose where to play, enter or grow in a market, improve adoption, strengthen performance, or scale a model that works.

Strategy and portfolio choices

Prioritise markets, segments, products or opportunities. Compare options, allocate resources, build or challenge the case for investment.

Market entry and commercial growth

Assess a market, define the entry route, shape pricing, channels, partnerships and launch priorities.

Access, adoption and customer behaviour

Find what drives or blocks uptake among customers, clinicians, practitioners, payers or channel partners, then adapt the offer, evidence or journey.

Operating model and performance

Diagnose why teams, sites or markets perform differently. Improve capacity, economics, service quality and accountability.

Scale, integration and transformation

Take a pilot or local model across teams, sites or markets. Integrate acquisitions, standardise what matters, preserve local adoption.

LM Qantara works across healthcare and life sciences, spanning care delivery, animal health, veterinary services, pharmaceuticals and health technologies. That breadth matters when a product, service or care model enters a new market, reaches a different professional audience or needs to adapt lessons from another part of healthcare.

Healthcare services and care delivery

We work with provider groups, clinic networks and specialty-care platforms on growth, performance or scale. The focus may be the care model, capacity, professional workflows or the patient journey.

Animal health, veterinary care and the pet economy

We work across:

  • animal-health products, from pharmaceuticals and diagnostics to devices and digital
  • veterinary care and the wider pet economy, including nutrition, insurance and pet services

Our experience combines clinical practice, veterinary business ownership, multisite leadership and commercial strategy, across market entry, adoption, performance and scale.

Pharmaceuticals, life sciences and health technologies

We work with pharmaceutical, medtech, digital-health and other science-based businesses on portfolio choices, market entry and adoption. Our experience spans pharmaceuticals, medical products and biomaterials, with particular strength in translating scientific and clinical evidence into a clear commercial case and a practical path to adoption.

Selected work

Turning around an underperforming veterinary care business within a larger group

Case details

A veterinary clinic within a larger care group was losing clients, revenue and organisational stability after an ownership transition. We diagnosed how team structure, capacity, customer experience and care pathways were interacting, then rebuilt the operating model around the real constraints. The decline stopped, growth returned, and successful practices were later shared across the group.

Building a scalable care group through acquisitions in Asia

Case details

An investment team had a data-led way to screen veterinary clinics across Asia, but attractive numbers could hide owner dependence, staffing risk and limited post-deal upside. We added veterinary and operator judgement to test investability and realistic improvement potential. The review materially changed the ranking, narrowing 100+ clinics to a small number for deeper diligence.

Launching a medical-skincare brand through aesthetic clinics in the Gulf

Case details

A medical-skincare brand wanted to expand from Asia into Gulf aesthetic clinics. We identified what could transfer, narrowed the range to priority post-procedure uses and adapted the launch to local clinical practice and economics. Product trials led to paid orders, repeat purchases and a clearer route to scale.

For investors and portfolio companies

What looks attractive on paper still has to work in practice.

Investors already bring financial and transaction expertise. We add sector knowledge and operating judgement where the question is whether growth, earnings or a value-creation plan will hold up in practice.

That can mean challenging the thesis before the deal, translating it into priorities after close, or working with management on a specific performance issue.

Before the deal

Look beyond market growth and reported financials to test what drives earnings, where risks and upside sit, and whether the value-creation plan is realistic. We bring sector and operator judgement to questions conventional screening can miss.

First 100 days

Turn the investment thesis into a practical operating agenda: what should change first, what should be protected, where management attention matters most, and how to sequence change without disrupting the business.

In the portfolio

When growth stalls or performance varies across sites, we help management get underneath the averages, identify the real constraint and focus on the few levers that can translate into measurable operating change.

How we work

We start by getting clear on what is really happening, bring together the perspectives needed to answer it, and stay close to implementation where that adds value.

Understand what is really driving the problem

The visible symptom is not always the real issue. We look across the market, customers, professionals, economics and operations to identify what is actually driving performance.

Build the answer from evidence and experience

We combine analysis, interviews, market evidence, scientific or clinical context and practical operating judgement. Lessons from elsewhere are useful only when they fit the local reality.

Stay close to implementation

We can stay involved through launch, pilots, operating changes or rollout, working alongside the team to make the answer usable in practice.

Where specialist scientific, regulatory, financial, data or local-market expertise is needed, we bring it in selectively around the core team.
